Core Team

George Wheatle WillliamsGeorge Wheatle Williams, PP/AICP, the founder of the firm, has over 20 years of experience in urban planning, grant writing and organizational development. George completed his graduate study in City and Regional Planning at the Rutgers Graduate School of Rutgers University. He is a licensed Professional Planner in the State of New Jersey and nationally certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners. He has represented several Planning Boards and Zoning Boards of Adjustment and served as a Zoning Board of Adjustment member in his hometown of Montclair. George continues to specialize in community and economic development, and redevelopment planning. His particular area of interest is planning for distressed communities.  Additionally, George has offered expert witness testimony for a variety of private clients before land use boards throughout New Jersey.

 

Michele DelisfortMichèle S. Delisfort, PP/AICP, a Principal with the firm, brings a wealth of experience in the areas of redevelopment and land use planning. She has designed innovative land use procedures and protocols for municipal clients and is the author of numerous redevelopment plans and area investigations. Currently, Michèle is a coadjutant professor at Rutgers University where she teaches  Urban Planning. She is also the Chairperson of the Planning Development Institute [PDI] at Rutgers. Michèle serves as Commissioner to the Planning Board for the Township of Union. Michèle’s speciality is land use and redevelopment planning with planning in developing countries as a primary interest. Michèle is an active participant in the national and local chapter of the American Planning Association. She earned her Masters in City and Regional Planning from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy at Rutgers University.

 

Gerard HaizelGerard M. Haizel, PP/AICP, a Senior Associate with the Nishuane Group, received a Masters of Urban Planning degree from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University. He has extensive experience in the areas of community development and planning as well as affordable housing production. Gerard specializes in neighborhood planning and socio-economic profiling. Additionally, he has represented Land Use Boards as a licensed professional planner and served as a Commissioner of the Zoning board of Adjustment in the Township of Montclair. Gerard is nationally certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners.

 


 

Chanda Dawadi joined the Nishuane Group as a Junior Associate after earning her Masters in Infrastructure Planning at the New Jersey Institute of Technology [NJIT]. Chanda is a former Wachovia Housing Scholar and has a Bachelor of Architecture from Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu, Nepal. She brings a plethora of planning skills to the Nishuane Group and is primarily responsible for the firm’s urban design work. Chanda is particularly interested in neighborhood and community planning.
